His facial features are described as strong and defined, with a chiseled jawline, straight nose, and high cheekbones, which is often accented with his ever so charming crooked smile. He has the ideal hands for a piano player with long, slender fingers. He is graceful in his movements and composure, with a classy fashion sense that tends to stick out amongst his fellow high school peers. He has pale skin as would the traditional vampire; however, the sun is not harmful to him.

Basic Personality: Edward is charming, polite, and stubborn. He often gets what he wants with the help of his good looks and natural charm, and his crooked smile. He is musically inclined and is an exceptional piano player who enjoys composing music of his own along with the classics. His over protectiveness can easily be mistaken for a need for control, but his intentions are true as he only wants the safety and well-being of his family and loved ones. He would stop at nothing to assure that they stay out of harm's way. Edward often comes off as calm, cool, and collected, but underneath he is struggling internally with who he is. He believes himself to be a monster and fears of hurting the ones he loves because of his natural instinct to feed. It is due to this struggle that he commits himself to the "vegetarian" lifestyle that his adoptive father, Carlisle, started many years ago. Edward comes off as reserved and mysterious to his classmates as he often avoids any conversation or contact with them, but his quiet demeanor transforms when he is doing something he truly loves such as hunting (especially mountain lions), driving fast cars, and playing baseball. History: Upon the request of his birth mother in 1918, Edward was spared his life from the Spanish influenza that claimed the life of both his mother and father when Carlisle Cullen had agreed to initiate the Change from human to vampire, making Edward immortal and immune to any virus. Carlisle had gladly taken Edward under his wing when his parents passed away.
Edward complied to the lifestyle that Carlisle had followed, only feeding on animals rather than humans. A few years of following Carlisle's shadow, Edward went off on his own to do a bit of rebelling. In order to satisfy his craving for human blood and soothe his guilty conscience, Edward drank only from criminals and truly evil people; however, even that had made him feel like the monster he was no matter what justification he had. It was then that he went back to Carlisle and continued living the "vegetarian" vampire life.
The Cullen family moved to Forks, Washington only a couple years before Bella did. Up until that point Edward stayed to himself and his family as he was afraid to get close to anyone and endangering his family and their identities.
